Ryan made the process for us first-time homebuyers approachable AND fun. We had an initial call with him on a Tuesday, where we shared our list of must-haves and preferred neighborhoods, and he was able to schedule a number of showings for the following Saturday, including our dream home. Ryan worked quickly to submit an offer for us the same day, and was extremely responsive over weekend with offer updates and answers to our questions. He guided us along every step of the process, from standard inspections and final walkthrough to unexpected appliance delays and accessing the condo for window treatment measurements. We lost literally countless hours over months due to the associates incompetence and his inability to convey information and answer honestly. Associate seemed to be clueless at all times, and not just about the status of the deal or pending actions, but about the basic construction of the house and obvious features. Nevertheless, he provided odd answers about square footage, appliance features, plumbing, security system, etc. As we approached the Close date, we realized that he was simply making up answers to our questions as they quickly became contradictory. The Close: No one from the DG office showed up to the Close and no move made to provide our house keys after we signed the paperwork and become owners. We had to call DG and they had no idea how we were going to get inside, INSIDE OUR OWN HOUSE. They reluctantly gave us the lockbox code for a nearby selling properly to fish a spare realtor key out and access our own property and place back. To top that off, there was no garage door key. The Seller appointed DG Advisors to be on point to handle the communications with us, the Buyer, for the next 8 weeks to close out the list of items. A week after Close, associate called us and told us that the contractual Punch List was actually quite "unreasonable." After prompting, he admitted that he hadn't actually read the Punch Lost, but "it seemed pretty long." While this was happening, we experienced flooding in the basement 2 weeks after moving into the property. Associate began trying to tell us he was taking things off the Punch List, that there was no screen doors for us for instance, even though the Builder had already scheduled the drop off and we received them the next day. There were so many instances of this type of thing for weeks. This associate will never leave information in a voicemail, nor a text. "Call me" is the most you'll get, and he'll never go on record - that's a huge red flag and we should have realized it sooner. Three weeks after the Close, associate called to tell us that someone else at his office would be taking over as the point person until the Punch List period was over. And then just two days later he called and said that in fact, DG would no longer be participating at all despite their agreement post-Close, but dammit he wanted to let us know sincerely that he "did a really good job for us." I actually don't know what they do besides babysit the house during visits from potential buyers. There are two other units in our building, and the buyers of both had the same agonizing experience with DG, but I'll leave them to tell their own story. Now a note about the others we met. Shelly was incredibly helpful the few times we were able to work with her, and we can't comment about Will other than he was present at two walk throughs and he seemed to be unaware of the property and it's features.
